About us

The raison d’être of the European Aerosol Federation (FEA, Fédération Européenne des Aérosols) since its establishment in 1959 has been to promote and advance the aerosol dispenser industry in Europe.

The FEA initially established its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
During the 1960s, the formation of the European Economic Community prompted aerosol manufacturers to collaborate in order to protect their shared interests at a supranational level. Within the FEA, a dedicated ‘Commission’ was responsible for addressing aerosol-related matters and implementing actions that eventually laid the groundwork for a European Directive on aerosol dispensers.
In the 1970s, the European Aerosol Information Centre (FEAC) was founded in Brussels to keep manufacturers informed about legislative developments within the European Community. With the expansion of the European Union, the FEA relocated its offices to Brussels in the early 1980s, evolving into an international association.

Today, the FEA represents 17 European countries including more than 300 companies, from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to major multinational corporations operating in the aerosol dispenser sector.

The FEA is actively engaged by supporting initiatives led by its members, contributing to policy development in collaboration with EU institutions, and promoting the exchange of knowledge both within its network and on a global scale.
