FEA updates its Code of Practice on HFC Use in Aerosols

07 May 2014

Firstly adopted in 2002, FEA has again updated its Code of Practice on HFC Use in Aerosols.

In supplement of the existing legislation, HFCs should only be used in the aerosol industry in applications where there are no other safe, practical, economic or environmentally acceptable alternatives.

Global Warming Potential (GWP) contribution from general aerosols was voluntary and yearly reported to DG Environment, then to DG Climate Action for the years 2001 to 2011.

The F-gases II Regulation requires a new mandatory reporting from companies and FEA then decided to stop its voluntary survey and reporting.
