DUCC and CONCAWE share their realistic assumptions for consumer exposure assessments

25 April 2014

Some DUCC members (including FEA) and Concawe initiated the SCEDs (Specific Consumer Exposure Determinants) Project in 2012. Later this activity has also been integrated in the ECHA “CSR/ES Roadmap” Action 2.5.
As a result of this project, a document on “How to use the SCEDs for chemical exposure assessment under REACH – Guidance for SCEDs user” has been published on the DUCC website.

SCEDs are being developed to transparently document the way that their products are commonly used by consumers. The SCEDs will document typical conditions of use of consumer products, expressed in a form that can be fed into the commonly applied exposure assessment tools. The first SCEDs will be made publicly available during 2014.
